“I am not able to bear all these people alone, because the burden is too heavy for me.”
Numbers 11:14 NKJV

We’ve all heard the Nike saying, “Just do it.” But how hard is it to just do it?
I was practicing archery the other day, focusing on my mental game. Changing my mental game was so hard, impossible even. I would be good for one shot, but off for the other ones. It wasn’t till I looked up and said, “Okay God, we got this.” Then I was able to focus and be consistent.
When we look to “just do it,” whatever it is, are we doing it alone? Are we pushing for only our way to get it done? Do we even think to involve God? Is that why it’s hard to just do it?
When I was shooting the bow, it’s just me that pulls the string and releases it. Though in my mind, I hear what I need to do later. I hear the amazing advice from my coach. I see the books I’ve read about archery, and I feel the way I draw the bow. There is so much more going on then just me. There is much more then just doing it. And if I’m alone, it’s just that much harder to focus. I need God.
He helps me focus. He keeps me on track. He reminds me of what I need. He holds me accountable. With Him, I can hit the mark. With God, I can just do it.
We can’t just do it alone. It will be too much for us. And when we get overwhelmed we have to look towards Him. He will give us the help we need to “just do it.”
