Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established. The Lord hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
Proverbs 16:3-4 KJV
Okay, honesty time. Sometimes, I don’t know what to write for the blog. I do plan and I’ll start writing these great ideas, and then it comes time to post…. and it doesn’t feel right. Then I go back and forth with God, saying how I need to post but it doesn’t feel right. Or again, I’m staring at the add a new post page waiting for something. But then there’s nothing.
Today, as I had that problem, so many good ideas to write, but not one felt right, God put the scripture in Proverbs in my spirit. He reminded me that while this was my blog, I’m doing it for Him. Not for me. Why do I need to post every Sunday? Why do I have to put the perfect idea down? Am I trying to reach some goal with this blog, or am I trying to use this blog to help people, and myself, get closer to God? Is this blog, my work, committed to me or to Him?
If my goal is the second one, then the question isn’t what do I need to write. What is God asking me to do now? With this responsibility of writing and sharing His word, what do I need to do now? Sometimes it comes quickly and an idea is there, fully formed and envisioned. Other times it’s a wait because I don’t know what to write. Either is fine as long as I do what God wants. As long as I’m talking to Him.
And if I began to worry about you, dear reader, well, I pray. I pray that these posts help you. I pray that God shows you something good in your day. I hope you talk and get closer to God wherever you’re at. I hope you know that God loves you. no matter what you know. It’s okay to have an idea or not. It’s okay to know, or not.
As long as we go to God, everything will be alright. For God made everything, you, me, even the work I’m doing. He can make something beautiful, even when we don’t know how or why. God isn’t dependent on what we know. Don’t limit Him to it either. He can do and love us more than we can imagine or ever know.
