MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Do you know the story of the poinsettia? Well, let me tell you!

A young girl went to the village to visit the Nativity scene at the chapel. She could not buy a present to give the baby Jesus. She could only gather a bundle of roadside weeds and form a bouquet.

As she went to the chapel she cried over her bouquet of weeds. She wanted to give more. But her cousin told her, that even the humblest gift given in love, will be acceptable in His eyes.

Upon entering the chapel and presenting her bouquet to the Nativity Jesus, the bouquet of roadside weeds turned into a bouquet of beautiful red flowers. From that day on, the bright red flowers were known as the ‘Flores de Noche Buena’, or ‘Flowers of the Holy Night’. We know them as poinsettias.

This story is a reminder that it is not about what we give, but who are we giving to. Who is the one you give your life to? I hope it’s God and you let Him love you this Christmas and beyond. And if it’s not God, I believe and get Him to be your center. Because it’s Christmas and His gift was not just a baby, it was a chance to get to know Him and be closer to Him than ever before. It was a chance to be humble and be loved by Him.
