So, in 2017, I had a concept and character design class. One of the projects was to create an evaluation of an animal or a Pokémon. While I love Pokémon, I went with an evaluation. Part of the project was to study the core animal. I was praying about the project and sketching out ideas. God led me to snakes. Like literally, most of my sketches were snakes and when my teacher gave me the go ahead, the whole project came into place. I recently added the scripture.

As I was studying snakes, I learned how they wait and stalk their prey before they quickly strike. How they constrict and strangle prey before resorting to poisoning them. Sometimes, if a prey struggles to much, they will let the prey go. They consider how and what they hunt. They’re wise in their hunting.

This came to my mind as I played a game with my family recently. It was a word association game, and some of my associations of things greatly differed or upset my sister. One of those things that we differed on was snakes. I said snakes are wise, she said cunning. Now, both of us are right, but what happened is how we saw a snake differed, leading us to argue.

There’s always another view. I call snakes wise. She called them cunning. I like green, she likes red. We’re different people, almost opposite ends of the spectrums, and we see things differently, and that’s okay.

Everything is, was, and will be made to give God glory somehow, some way. We can’t look and say that our opinions, judgements, and associations are the only way to look at things because they’re not. There’s many ways to see things and honestly, one person can’t see and understand them all. But God can.

If we seek Him, God will help us see and understand the ways that others see things. And He’ll help us accept that there might be some ways we just can’t see or understand. For example, in one of the arguments my sister and I got into in the game, she could not see why I made the association. Simply, it was based off of my memory. I don’t limit myself to my memory, but I used it for association. Still, she had a hard time seeing it. My mom intervened and asked if we were willing to let each other have different views and enjoy the game, or were we going to force each other to have only one viewpoint.

When my sister and I let each other have different viewpoints, even though we couldn’t understand all of them, the game was extremely fun and enjoyable. Right now, it’s hard to enjoy life as others force their view or you feel pressured to see things a certain way.

But with God, He can build our strength, carry our worries, He can make life enjoyable. All we have to do is ask Him and let Him. Life can’t be enjoyable if it’s our way, or the easy way, or someone else’s way. There will always be something missing. With God though, God who is whole and complete, life can be complete. If we’re willing to let go of our/their way, and go His way.

“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.””

Matthew‬ ‭11:29-30‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
