Long time no see everyone! I could give you all the nice pretty excuses for what has taken so long. Or, I could say that today, I went to God. I let Him give me what I needed and He answered.

I wrote that Italian sonnet about that. About how we can let the world and worry distract us from simply being in God today. So God, thank You for today. Thank You for meeting me in today. I can’t wait to see what the bread is tomorrow!

My God, how can I live on bread today,
When tomorrow’s needs are blinding my sight?
My ears hear fear; I feel the coming night,
While heart and tongue crave noise throughout the day.

How can I guard what waits beyond today?
Why does money talk like it knows what’s right? Why does Your portion fade to mere backlight?
Can one day’s mercy truly be the way?

Then in Your stillness, kinder truth was heard:
“I know your flesh must still be clothed and fed;
Yet what has fed your heart till it’s askew?

Come, see Me, hear Me, hunger for My Word;
I speak each day; My Word shall be your bread.
Take Me today; I give Myself to you.”

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”” -Matthew 4:4 NKJV
