They say that a dog is man’s best friend,
While a wolf will make one meet his end.
So why, dear one, are you so torn?
Too rough to be tamed like a dog,
Yet keen enough to be leashed as a watchdog.
So why, dear friend, go against how you were born?
Too devoted to be a lone wolf.
Yet strong enough to hold up the roof.
So then why, dear beast, do you look so worn?
Too much blood on your hands,
Yet asked to fight and stand.
So why, dear friend, is your heart in thorns?
Too much of a heart that cares,
Yet asked to ransom your heart for lies they wear.
So why, dear beast, do you mourn?
Why must we have one or the other?
Why continue to soften what is hard to swallow?
Now I know, dear one, why you look so torn.
You tear and tear, hoping people will stay.
Yet being left is just another tear another way.
Stop tearing and start being what He made you, dear one, when you were born:
His dearly.
Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.” -Psalm 100:3 NKJV
