If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

A father is stern.
Not because he is a man.
Because he does work.

A father is steel.
Not because he has to be.
But so we can stand.

A father is there.
Not because he wants to be.
But because God is.

A father follows.
Not because he is worried.
But to hold our hand.

A father can cry.
Not because he is weaker,
But to be open.

A father is great.
Not because he is mighty.
Because God’s in him.

A father must serve.
Not because he’s submitting.
Because he loves us.

A father’s a king.
Not cause of a crown or word.
Beause God made him.

Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there. And if you are struggling today, know that you have a father. A heavenly one, God, who loves you and wants you. He will comfort you and guide you if you let Him. He’s better than any father imaginable.
