New year, new me!
Not really.
I still feel old,
In a stronghold.
Maybe, new year, clean slate.
But still lying in wait,
is everything I hate.
Now clean is one big weight.
There’s new year, new beginnings?
But I want more than beginnings.
I want a life full of winnings,
Not these hard, almost-lost innings.
I want blessings, greats, gold, and to be free!
So maybe it’s not the new year.
I just want what I don't have.
All these sayings make that plain,
In this new time, I lack.
I desire and want
But don't have.
Still, I need,
One thing,
You.
The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.
